I have been incarcerated for eighteen years. My prison experience saved my life and afforded me the opportunity to confront my criminal past. Having lacked any sense of honor as a teenager my only concern then was getting high on a variety of drugs, and that need to remain dependent on drugs led me to commit a burglary that unfortunately resulted in a physical altercation with a home owner whom I sexually assaulted as a means of asserting a false sense of control and dominance over the situation in which I had lost all control.

I am deeply shamed by the crime I have committed. I know I cannot change the past, but I have changed my character and mindset. I now live a life of sobriety and virtue rather than vice. I have used my imprisonment to heal myself. I am interested in intellectual correspondence with all intrigued.
