My name is Jeffrey Dawkins and I'm twenty two (22) years old. I'm presently serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole. I was wrongly convicted of a crime in which I am totally-emphatically-unequivocally 100% innocent. Not innocent in a way of having something to do with the crime, just not that part. No!!! No!! No! Innocent in a way of having absolutely nothing to do with this crime directly, indirectly or any way at all. I'm an innocent victim hit by a stray bullet fired by callous prosecuting authorities. I'm a high school graduate with absolutely no prior criminal history at all, and a night out on our crime-soaked streets has put a noose around my life larger than the tree itself where the noose was hung that sparked the Jena (6) movement. I don't have that kind of support, but I do have an honest, loving, hard-working family that is aiding me in the struggle of fighting an unjust system at this young stage in my life. What I'm asking for is the voices of the people. If the people didn't scream for the young men in Louisiana, they would still be in prison. The difference between them and me, I don't even have a punch in this crime! I need the voices and help of the people!
