Furthermore, if you are a gay or bisexual man and you try to send an email to a straight prisoner you will be flagged in our system and you will not be able to send emails to anyone, straight or gay.

Straight male prisoners, for the most part, do not want to hear from men, especially gay men. They are surrounded 24 hours a day by other men and most of them want to hear from women. They are often very offended to get mail from gay men and they hold us accountable for it.
